Kelmarsh, Horses and Duke of Edinburgh, where ive been. | updates

The last month or so has been an incredible struggle for me, due to various personal reasons and mock/year 10 exams really seemed to put the icing on the cake. Ever since i was a tiny tot, i have always loved going to pretty gardens and houses, taking photos and so on has always put a smile on my face. Being the lucky gal i am, i have a very talented mum who loves painting, drawing and gardening so these kind of places fit us to a T. seeing me go through a very low point in my life made my mum extremely unhappy and so to put us in better spirits, we decided to venture out, accompanied by my sister to a local house called Kelmarsh. Fortunately the weather was beautiful.

Now that my aunties horse has better settled into her new stable, i have been riding her almost everyday and spend most evenings with her. She is a 13.5hh pony and her name is spotty (no, we didn't give her that incredibly creative name) Unfortunately she had an unpleasant start in life as an Irish cart horse and often went to Appleby horse fair and is scared of sticks and water because of this. incredibly she has only ever refused one jump and despite having very short and tense strides due to her previous surroundings, she has softened and lengthened her strides beautifully and i am very proud of her.

I have also started my training for my duke of Edinburgh award, which involves a two day expedition in which i am expected to plan a route, cook my own food and make camp for a night. i, for one are actually looking forward to it so so much. which is odd since last time i went camping, the tent blew away and nearly blew off a cliff. i hope to take lots of photos and will update you when the time comes for me to do my practice expedition (20-21st july)

i am aware of my appalling absence, it has been exactly one month since i last posted, which is naughty (smacks hand). i have a couple of posts which will be up very soon and my birthday coming up in a couple of weeks.

hi! I'm Heather and you're probably wondering who i am!

1) I don't have a middle name, my mum gave my sister and i one but it isn't on our birth certificates. (mine is Rose and my sisters is Mae if you were wondering)

2) My most favourite place in the whole world is Kirkby Stephen, a little town in the lake district near Kendal where my nanny used to live and my dad grew up, before she passed away i visited about 10 times a year and regard it my second home. I miss it very dearly!

3) I have two dogs called Rosie and Milo.

4) I'm a keen horse rider and have been since i was 8 years old.

5) I have a scar through my right eyebrow from when i was 4 and i fell off my bike, rolled down a ditch and hit my head on the corner of someones house and ended up spending two days in hospital. fortunatly it is barely visible anymore. fun times.

6) I have Onychophagia, a form of OCD which is basically severe nail biting. Hence why i have given up hope of ever having nice nails.

7) When i was 11, i dropped my first phone off a bridge into a river and crawled through stinging nettles and nearly trod on a crayfish to try and rescue it.

8) life without adventure time is not worth living. that is all.

9) I have a ridiculous fear of performing/ speaking in front of anyone. i even panic if i have to read in class, although i have been told by some teachers i am the nosiest person they have ever met.

10) I have the worst fear of spiders you will ever know, once when we were on the motorway, one crawled across the dash board in front of me and i was so scared i undid my seat belt, climbed over two rows of seats and sat and cried in the boot.

11) I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate HATE people touching my hair without my permission. no idea why, it just makes me feel uncomfortable.

12) Those who know me will know that i have the most ridiculous addiction to mint flavored sweets.

13) I have never saved money for more than two months.

14) I take Japanese as a GCSE :)

15) I have a permanently bruised toe after ted, the fattest shortest Clydesdale horse in the universe spooked and stomped on it. it doesn't even grow anymore!

16) I once sang and played guitar on the radio

17) I like to tell myself to be more organised and then keep it up for about three days

18) My History teacher is Irish and her little sayings and accent really does crack me up.

19) I have a weird obsession with The Big Bang Theory.

20) I fan girl over Alfie Deyes.

21) I cannot stand badly applied eyeliner. i am almost convinced that half the girls in my school do theirs on a bouncy bus without a mirror.

22) I've only ever had three detentions. one for forgetting my planner, one for "messing about" in PE and one for not telling anyone when the teacher never showed up to our lesson, instead all 30 of us played 21 dares, a couple of the boys traded stolen 'out of lesson' cards and we then stamped our planners with a stolen stamp. watch out, we got a bad-ass over here.

23) My favourite season is spring

24) When i was in year 1, a couple of friends and i decided to play hair dressers and cut chunks out of each others hair.

25) Im not a 'think before you speak' kind of person, which i have regretted on several occasions.

26) I don't eat cornflakes in the morning because i think it is unlucky.

27) I am a big believer of fate.

28) My very most favourite foods are donuts and hot crossed buns.

29) My favourite colours are light pink, light blue, mint green and turquoise.

30) I very rarely straighten/ curl or blow dry my hair. Au natural right here!

hibernation.

It may be apparent that i have become none existent on this little blog of mine recently (naughty! -smacks hand-), I'm surprised tumble weeds don't fly past the screen every time I log into blogger if im honest. I've decided its time to blow some dust away and inject some life into my writing and my blog. The only reason I really have for hiding away is purely because (to be polite) I am the laziest sod you ever did meet. I'm one of those people who will get bored of my work sheets at school, stuff them into my folder and say "I'll do it at home" only to come back to school the next lesson presenting the teacher with a scrunched up half finished work sheet and a crap excuse to accompany it. Of corse I could sit down when I come home from school and write a nice little post for you but to be perfectly honest I much prefer to live on the edge, the edge being curled up in bed watching an idiot abroad and honey boo boo child on youtube to make me feel better about myself. Oh the high life.

For the past week or so, I've been living in other peoples houses, getting out and about hacking with one of my riding friends on my aunties horse and finishing up homework etc. Next week I'm off to Norfolk, which is 2-3 hours from where I live for the week to see some of my mums friends and just make use of the holidays! since I plan to take my laptop with me to complete some homework, Such fun! (name that programme!) I will do a post every day to summarize each adventurous day, since well, yanno, this is a blog and all.

I'm pretty sure that is as many excuses as I can think of for not blogging, and I realize now how much I miss it!
I pinky promise you will see me much more frequently from now on!
(depending on who you are, that could be good or super bad, take it how you will.)

Revlon Nearly Naked foundation | the review.

Revlon nearly naked foundation; £6.99 - £8.99
As much as summer time thrills me, it comes with sweaty uncomfortable skin and the last thing your going to want is a face full of melting makeup on a boiling hot day. although summer hasn't quiiite reached us (i.e, its actually snowing right now) its best to prepare and having read some rave reviews about how light and wonderful this foundation is, i thought id give it a whirl.
The actual packaging itself is glass and is so teeny and compact this would make the absolute ideal foundation to carry with you on holiday, i can fit it in the palm of my hand and my hands aren't very big. I haven't quite got to grips with the lid mechanism and quite often screw it on wonky and cant tell if it is actually secure. Oh, and it has no fricking pump!! which bothers alot of people highly. Myself in particular are a very clumsy person and i can never stop the foundation dripping onto my hand and then end up wasting loads of it when im done. I'm pretty sure it would be so much more convenient if you would please Revlon, just design a foundation that actually has a pump!
The foundation itself defiantly doesn't have a smell that i could put my finger on but it is nowhere near as bad as the colorstay's awful wet paint scent. The formula of the foundation is what i love the most. It might as well be a tinted moisturizer. It provides light/medium coverage depending on whether you build it up or not, it sits super light on the skin and you could apply loads of this without looking the slightest bit cakey. I have found that it does actually moisturize my skin and when i wear it i look much healthier and more awake than i would normally, it has a dewy finish which again, makes you look really happy and healthy and glowy and delightful.
However, i defiantly wouldn't recommend this to people with reasonably oily skin as the 'dewy glow' just makes you look really oily, it is also likely you might find it to not last very well throughout the day and so i would probably stay clear of this foundation if this is the case. Although obviously if you do have oily skin and want to try it anyway then go ahead! these are merely my own musings and opinions :)

This foundation has worked wonders for my skin and has defiantly beaten Rimmel's wake me up
as my new favourite drugstore foundation.

ESPA introductory collection | the review.

ESPA introductory collection - £16.50
As a result of the recent climate, my skin has not been to happy. I've been comfort eating which has lead to hairline breakouts, my lips have actually chapped which is something i have never experienced before and my skin has been extremely dry and sometimes very sore. I've found myself stocking up on the moisturizer and now have enough lip balm to cure everyone's chapped lips in Northamptonshire. I received this set as a gift for Christmas and included is 5 sample sized products from the brand. Obviously the first thing i noticed was the packaging which isn't particularly pretty but the pots are infact glass and despite being dropped twice on tiled floors are yet to meet their deaths.  Each individual item is teeny tiny and the absolute ideal size for travel and the pots can be washed out and reused after they are finished. I've been using the moisturizer and eye cream most and have used the skin polish on occasion. The cleanser and floral refresh worry me slightly because they have a very over powering floral scent and having such sensitive skin i normally try to stay clear of heavily scented skin products so i am yet to bite the bullet and give these two a go. The moisturizer in particular also has a very strong scent which i really dislike. negativity aside, the products have hydrated my face beautifully and the eye cream specifically has made a wondrous difference to the area under my eyes, it appears brighter and more enforced, as before my under eyes had always been very dark, delicate and tired looking. This little set retails for £16.50 and is available on their website
